If no other button is pressed within 5 seconds, the hand-held transmitter returns
to sleep mode.
Deactivating the key lock
Press and hold the standby key [page 24 Fig. 1 (1)] for approx. 5 seconds until
the control LED [page 24 Fig. 1 (2)] flashes red 3 times.
When the key lock is deactivated, one of the two function keys can be pressed
directly at any time and the radio signal is transmitted.
Radio transmission
The radio transmission is realised on a non-exclusive transmission path, which is
why interference cannot be ruled out.
Possible interference can be caused by switching operations, electric motors or
defective electrical appliances. The radio range in buildings differs greatly from
that in the free field. In addition to the transmitting power and the receiving
characteristics of the receiver, environmental influences such as humidity and
structural conditions on site play an important role.
The CARBEST radio remote controls are designed for ranges of several hundred
metres under optimal conditions.
The maximum range of up to 1,000 m is achieved with line-of-sight contact to
the receiver without high-frequency interference in conjunction with the
external antenna supplied.
Possible causes for reduced radio range are:
Buildings of any kind and vegetation.
•
•
Insufficient distance of the antenna to the body, as well as to other
conductive surfaces or objects.
The "background noise" in non-rural areas. This can already be relatively
•
high, reducing the signal-to-noise ratio and thus the radio range.
The proximity of devices operated in the neighbourhood with similar
•
operating frequencies. These can make the receiver seem less sensitive.
