FULL HEADSET DISSASSEMBLY
Caution: Full LOOK Head Fit headset disassembling requires the use of special tools; it is
strongly to recommended to call on your approved LOOK retailer for this operation.
1 Loosen the stem completely.
2 Make the stem slip to the pivot top
until the fork cap, the specific ring
and the spacers to the top of the
stem can be removed without damage
as shown on the diagram of Fig. G
below.
3- Loosen the height adjuster using the tools recommended (see Fig. B in paragraph
«Headset adjustment»), then remove the height adjuster from the fork pivot. The snap
ring then becomes visible.
4- Remove the snap ring using snap ring pliers as shown on the diagram of Fig. H below.
The snap ring can be removed using
the following tools:
- Outside snap ring pliers Facom
411A.17
- Outside snap ring pliers SAM 192-J15
- Other snap ring pliers
Caution: Make sure to use snap ring
pliers to prevent damage to the carbon
fork pivot and wounds of operator .

5- Make the snap ring slip beyond the fork pivot using snap ring pliers. Make sure to
firmly hold the fork to prevent it from slipping off the head tube and falling down.
This could damage it as no mechanical stop retains the fork once the snap ring is
removed.
6- Remove the support ring of the lower bearing.
7- Remove the lower bearing 1¼ of the fork cone.
WARNING: Carbon is a very abrasive material which quickly deteriorates the tools.
If the tube pivot is too long, the fork cap will not press onto the specific race, which
can make the race move. If the pivot is too short, the contact surface between the tube
pivot and the handlebar stem will be too small and handlebar stem hold-up will not be
optimal.

IMPORTANT:

• Do not lubricate the tube pivot.
• Do not tighten the handlebar stem without the specific race fitted for the handlebar
stem with cylindrical tightening (conventional).
Use the headset LOOK Head Fit provided with fork HSC or a LOOK recommended
headset.
