Applications

Belt conveyors types BCA and BCB
are intended for conveyance of
grain and similar crops, but are also
ideal for the handling of many other
products in the agricultural and
industrial sectors.
Safety
1. Make sure that all guards are
in position and properly se-
cured.
2. Always stop the belt conveyor
prior to repair and maintenan-
ce.
3. See that the conveyor is in-
stalled to ensure stable and
safe operation and allow for
easy and safe access for repair
and maintenance.
4. Make sure that the belt and the
V-belts of the drive section al-
ways have the correct tension.
Maintenance
Lubrication
Lubricate the chain drive of the
BCA drive section once a year with
thin oil. All bearings and the gear
drive of the BCB drive section are
lubricated for life from the factory
and need no further lubrication.
Belt tensioning
Check at regular intervals that the
belt is suitably taut. The belt must
be tensioned to ensure full speed.
If the belt is too slack it will work by
fits and starts. Make sure that the
belt runs in the middle of the rolls;
if required, adjust by means of the
spindles of the tensioning section.
Tensioning of V-belts
Check at regular intervals that the
V-belts of the drive section are suit-
ably taut. Note: New V-belts must
be tightened after few hours of
operation.
Chain control (BCA drive section
only)
Check at regular intervals that the
chain is suitably taut. The chain
cannot be tensioned; if, after a long
operating period, it has become too
slack, it must be replaced.
Adjustment of tripper
Adjust the supporting rolls (A) so
that they support the belt while
ensuring smooth running. If the trip-
per is drawn out of the straight by
the belt it may be aligned with the
bars (B).
Cleaning
1. Keep the electric motor clean
to ensure adequate cooling.
2. Avoid deposits of dust or the
like on the rolls.
3. Always run the belt empty
before prolonged periods of
standstill.
Retightening
Retighten all bolts and screws after
the first day of opera tion. Generally,
they must always be tightened up.
