► SELF-EJECTING DEVICES
• The automatic ejection function uses modified accessories, the
active parts of which are protected against the contact test finger
(IP2X/IPXXB, according to standard IEC/EN 60529). A device
releases the retaining latch when accidental traction is exerted on
the flexible power cable. This device is activated by means of a
tension cord connected either to the flexible cable. The tension
cord has a loop at one end and a cable tie, for clamping the power
cable. A crimping lug allows looping the other end, once passed
through to the releasing device and cut to the desired length.
• Make sure the tension cord is shorter than the flexible cable.
• Make sure that the ejection system operates correctly,
considering the pulling angle of the cable with respect to the axis of
the accessory.
• Make sure the ejected device:
- is not likely to harm anyone in the vicinity;
- is not likely to be damaged or damage any surrounding
equipment.
• Occasionally check the state of the tension cord, of the cable
clamp and the free motion of the ejection mechanism.
