1. Determine the best location for the press. Choose an isolated
or shielded area with a smooth, solid, level floor.
2. Remove the shipping banding securing the press frame to
the shipping pallet. Remove all cartons and set aside.
3. Using an appropriate crane or hoist, stand the press frame
upright and attach an angle foot to the outside of each lower
upright. Place the frame on the floor and disconnect the hoist.
4. Remove the lock ring and spring securing the winch handle
to the winch axle. Flip the winch handle 180° and reassemble
the ring and spring.
5. Open the boxes found on the shipping pallet. Mount the
pump mounting bracket to the right-hand upright using two
hex head cap screws and nuts. See Figure 1.
6. Place the pump on the mounting bracket. Thread four cap
screws through the bottom of the bracket and into the pump
reservoir. See Figure 1.
CAUTION: Use a high-grade, non-hardening pipe sealant to
seal all hydraulic connections. If using Teflon tape, apply
one or two threads back to prevent the tape from becoming
pinched or broken off inside the hydraulic system. Loose
pieces of tape can travel through a hydraulic system and
obstruct the flow of oil damaging the system.
7. Clean the threads on the hydraulic hose(s) and fittings.
Assemble the hose(s) to the pump.
8. Gauge mounting options:
The gauge can be mounted to the gauge port on the pump
with a 45° elbow as shown in Figure 2 and 3.
Or the gauge can be mounted at the cylinder by using a
tee adapter between the swivel fitting and hose. If using a
double-acting cylinder, install the gauge in the top swivel
fitting as shown in Figure 4. When installing a gauge at the
cylinder, install a pipe plug in the pump's gauge port.
