1. Fasten the standpipe bottom section to the base with the 6 screws.
2. Place the cover over the standpipe bottom section.
3. Pass the mains cord through the base and the standpipe bottom
section.
4. Pass the mains cord through the standpipe middle section.
5. Screw the standpipe middle section onto the bottom one.
6. Pass the mains cord through the telescopic tube.
7. Screw the telescopic tube onto the standpipe middle section.
8. Connect the plug of the mains cord to the plug on the heater head.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Ensure that the plug connection (2) is secure.
9. Place the heater head onto the telescopic tube.
NOTE:
The 2 holes on the telescopic tube and the heater head must be
positioned above each other.
10. Attach the heater head to the telescopic tube with the two screws
and the washers.
11. Pull out the telescopic tube completely. To do so, unscrew the lock-
nut and then retighten it.
CAUTION:
The heater head must have a distance to the floor of at least 1.80 m.
12. Remove the tension relief clamp on the bottom of the base. Place it
within easy reach with the screws.
13. Fig. A: Insert the mains cord into the cable guide and retighten the
tension relief clamp. The mains cord may no longer be pulled.
NOTE:
Ensure secure, correct assembly of the tension relief. This pre-
vents the plug connection (2) from being released accidently.
14. Carefully stand up the assembled patio heater.
Instructions
Electrical connection
1. Make sure that the appliance voltage (see name plate) and the line
voltage match.
2. Set both power switches to O.
3. Only connect the mains plug to a properly installed earthed socket.
Connected Wattage
The appliance can handle a total heat output of 2000 W. With this con-
nected load a separate supply line protected by a 16 A household circuit
breaker is recommended.
CAUTION Overload:
Do not use any multiple sockets, as this device is too powerful.
Do not connect other high power appliances to the same circuit.
Safety Switch
Your radiator has a safety switch which turns off the electricity as soon
as the device falls over.
CAUTION:
Always place the device in an upright position in order that it is stable
and in order to prevent malfunctions.
WARNING:
• Always disconnect from the mains before cleaning and wait until the appliance has cooled down.
• Never immerse the appliance in water to clean it. This may lead to electrical shock or fire.
What to do if the appliance falls over?
1. Pull the mains plug from the socket. Set both power switches to O.
WARNING: Risk of burns!
During use, the heater head reaches a very high temperature. Wait
until the heater head has completely cooled down!
2. Examine the appliance for damage. Check the halogen heating
rods especially. Do not operate a damaged appliance!
3. Position the appliance upright again before turning it back on.
WARNING:
The appliance may only be operated in its fully assembled condition!
Use the power switches I/O to turn the appliance on and off.
When you turn on one power switch, you will obtain a heat output of
1000 W.
If you would like to increase the heat output to 2000 W, turn on both
power switches.
Shutting Down
1. Set both the power switches to the O position.
2. Disconnect the plug from the mains.
The appliance cannot be turned on.
Possible cause:
The appliance has no power supply.
Remedy:
Check the socket with a different device.
Check the distribution board.
Check that the tension relief is securely connected to the bottom of
the base.
Check the plug connection (2).
WARNING:
Before you unscrew the heater head from the telescopic rod to do
so, set both power switches to the O position! Pull the mains plug
from the socket!
Other possible cause:
The appliance is defective.
Remedy:
Contact our service department or a specialist.
WARNING:
During use, the heater head will reach a very high temperature. Wait
until the heater head has completely cooled down!
You may slide the telescopic tube back in during transport and for
storage.
Always keep the appliance out of the reach of children in a well-
ventilated and dry place.
