Problem
Engine does not start.
Engine lacks power, runs rough,
backfires, etc.
Tool used with power unit is
inoperative.

Probable Cause
No fuel in tank.
Low engine oil level.
Flow ON/OFF handle in the ON
position.
Electrical short, broken wire, or
loose connection.
Flow ON/OFF valve in the OFF
position.
Tool is a closed-center system type.
No hydraulic fluid in system or fluid
level low.
Incorrect hydraulic fluid viscosity.
Hydraulic filter needs service.
Power unit components (pump,
valve, etc.) worn or damaged.
Engine output insufficient. Engine
needs adjustment, tune-up, etc.

Probable Remedy
Fill fuel tank.
Check engine oil level.
Fill to FULL mark.
Move handle to the OFF position.
Check wires and connections.
Repair or replace.
Refer to the Engine Owner's Manual.

Move flow ON/OFF valve to ON
position.
Use only open-center system tools.
Check fluid level. Fill to FULL mark.
Check system for leaks.
Use fluid viscosity recommended.
