If you suspect that the energizer is
not working, then follow these steps:
- Disconnect the energizer from the fence.
- Check that the energizer's indicator light
is flashing.
- Check the battery connections.
- Check the battery voltage using a digital
voltmeter.
- With the energizer still disconnected from
the fence, check the energizer's output
voltage using a digital voltmeter. The
voltage between the fence output
terminal and the fence earth terminal
should be greater than 3000 V.
- If these tests are OK, then there is an
installation problem or a fault with the
Poliwire, tape, braid or wire in use. In the
case of Poli products, the wire strands can
break causing a loss of conductivity and
may need to be replaced. Check the
quality of the material the fence is
constructed with and all connection
points. If the problem persists, consult
this user manual for installation or
operation instructions or contact Tru-Test
(see www.tru-test.com).
