GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

This digital multimeter has been designed according to the International Elec-
tro Safety Standard IEC-61010 concerning safety requirements for electronic
measuring instruments and hand-held digital multimeters. It meets the require-
ments for 600V CAT III, 1000V CAT. II of IEC-61010 and grade 2 for pollution.
Before using this meter, please read this user's manual carefully and respect
the related safety precautions. Please see the description of section 1.1.3 for
international symbols used in the meter and instructions.
1.1 Precaution safety measures
1.1.1 Preliminary
• When using this meter, the user should comply with the following standard
safety procedures:
- The safety procedures to prevent electric shock
- The safety procedures to prevent wrong use
• To ensure your safety, please use the test probe provided with the meter.
Before use, please check and make sure that it is intact.
Don't measure any RMS voltage higher than 1000V DC or 750V AC, to pre-
vent electrical shock and/or meter damage. Don't measure any RMS voltage

prevent electrical shock and /or meter damage.
To avoid damaging meter or device to be measured, before measuring re-
sistance, cut off all circuits being tested and discharge all high voltage ca-
pacitors.
