4 MOUNTING
Requirements for the Mounting Location
☐ The mounting location must be indoors.
☐ The ambient temperature must be between 0°C (+32°F) and +40°C (+104°F).
☐ The mounting location must be protected against dust, moisture and corrosive substances.
☐ Devices that use the 2.4 GHz radio spectrum (e.g. microwave ovens) must be kept at a minimum distance
of 1 m (39.4 in.). This will prevent reduced connection quality and decreased data transfer rate.
☐ The distance between Sunny View and the devices that use SMA Bluetooth
be too great. In free-field conditions, the maximum range is 100 m (328 ft.). Depending on the ambient
conditions, this range may decrease.
Radio range indoors
The radio range indoors depends on absorbent materials (e.g. walls) between the devices with SMA
Bluetooth. In free-field conditions (i.e. without any obstacles), a radio range of up to 100 m (328 ft.) can
be achieved, whereas indoors it may be reduced to a few meters only. It is therefore not possible to
specify the indoor radio range precisely. Tip: To improve the radio range, use one or more SMA
Bluetooth Repeater devices as required.
Installing Sunny View
1. Push the tabletop stand onto the back of Sunny View.
2. Install Sunny View at a suitable mounting location.
Mounting Sunny View on the Wall
1. Select the location taking into consideration the requirements for the mounting location.
2. Mark and drill two drill holes (horizontal distance between the drill holes: 56 mm (2.2 in.), diameter of the
drill holes: 6 mm (0.2 in.)).
3. Place screw anchors in the drill holes and tighten the screws in the screw anchors.
4. Hang Sunny View onto the screws.
5 DETERMINING A FREE NETID
The NetID serves to distinguish PV plants with SMA Bluetooth that are in close proximity to each another. All
devices in a PV plant must have the same NetID. The NetID can be a number from 1 to 9 or a letter from A to F.
NetID 0 deactivates the Bluetooth function. NetID 1 enables a Bluetooth connection with one device. For PV
plants in Japan that are connected to an SMA CT Meter, you must select NetID 2 or higher.
A free NetID is a NetID that is used by no other PV plant with SMA Bluetooth in your vicinity.
Target Group
This task must only be performed by a qualified person.
Requirement:
☐ Devices in your PV plant with SMA Bluetooth must be turned off.
Procedure:
1. Commission Sunny View at the location of each device with SMA Bluetooth (see Section 6).
☑ During commissioning, Sunny View will search for all PV plants with SMA Bluetooth and display the
assigned NetIDs.
2. Select a free NetID and set it on all devices with SMA Bluetooth (see installation manual of the device).
