Surveillance Camcorder

Intended Use
A colour camera and a microphone are integrated in the camcorder, videos can be recorded in
AVI format (720 x 480, 30 pictures/s). For recording a microSD/microSDHC memory card (not
included), up to max. 32 GB, is used. Power is supplied by an internal, non-replaceable battery
that can be charged via USB. The product can be also used as a Webcam.
Please bear in mind that it is prohibited by law to observe strangers with this camcorder without
their knowledge and consent. Observe the rules and regulations of the country where you are using
the camcorder.

improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions. In such cases

• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is inadmissible
because of safety and approval reasons (CE).
• The product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children.
• The product must not get damp or wet, as this will destroy it! Do not expose the prod-
uct to extreme temperatures, vibrations or direct sunlight.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been taken from a cold room into a
warm one. The condensation that forms might destroy your unit. Wait until the
product has had time to adjust to the new ambient temperature.
• Any maintenance or repair work may only be performed by an authorised repair
shop; never dismantle the product.
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become dangerous play-
things for children.
• Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental
drops, even from a low height.

Charging the Battery
On delivery, the rechargeable battery is empty and it must be charged first.
Please note:
If the rechargeable battery is low, the camcorder cannot be turned on (or it switches
off again immediately).
To recharge the rechargeable battery, connect the mini USB connector (1) to a free USB port,
on a computer or USB hub, using the USB cable enclosed. You can also use a plug-in wall plug
transformer with USB socket.
The red (8) and blue LED (9) light up; for a completely empty rechargeable battery, the loading
process takes at least 3 hours.
If you connect the camcorder to a PC for recharging, the microSD card slot is recog-
nised (as a conventional USB stick or memory card reader).
Inserting/Removing the Memory Card
Video can be recorded, if a microSD/microSDHC memory card (max 32GByte) is
inserted into the slot (6). Pay attention to the correct orientation of the card and do
not use any force.
• Insert the memory card into the slot, until it locks into place.
• To remove the memory card, press it a little into the slot using a fingernail, so the locking mech-
anism unlocks. Then, a spring pushes the card slightly out of the slot, so the memory card can
be removed.
Switching On/Off
First, insert the memory card, as described above.
• To turn on the camcorder, briefly press the "Power" button. The blue LED lights up, then the
red LED blinks a few times and then goes out. The camcorder is now ready for use.
If you don't start video recording, the camcorder will switch off after about 30 seconds, to save
power.
• To switch off, first stop any recording in progress. Press and hold the "POWER" button for 3
seconds, and then release it. The LEDs go out, the camcorder is turned off.
Starting/Ending Video Recording
• Switch on the camcorder, as described above (briefly press the "POWER" button and wait until
the red LED goes out).
• To start a video recording, briefly press the button „

• You can now start a new recording or turn off the camcorder. To save power, the camcorder
turns off automatically after about 30 seconds, if no recording is in progress and no button is
pressed.
When the memory card is full, the recording stops automatically.
Sound-Controlled Video Capture
The camcorder can start a video recording automatically, when a noise is detected. This can be
used for simple surveillance tasks.
Proceed as follows:
• Switch on the camcorder, as described above (briefly press the "POWER" button and wait until
the red LED goes out).
• Briefly press the "MODE" button, the red LED now flashes quickly. This indicates the Mode for
sound-controlled recordings is activated.
• A noise that is louder than ca. 60dB will starts the video recording, the red LED flashes slowly.
After 2 minutes, the recording will stop automatically and be saved, if no further noise is
detected.
The 2-minute recording time restarts, if more noise is detected during the recording
time. In this case, the recording continues.
• The camcorder turns off, if no noise has been detected for a while, or if the internal battery is flat.
