Installation and connection
• The transformer must be disconnected from the power supply during installation. It is not suf-
ficient to just turn off at the light switch!
Turn off the power when removing the corresponding electric circuit fuse or the switch of the
circuit breaker. Secure it against an unauthorised re-start, e.g. with a danger sign.
• Check that the mains cable is free of current e.g. with an appropriate tester.
• The electronic transformer can be mounted via two lateral openings.
Do not damage the dedicated transformer when mounting!
Pay attention when tightening the screws that no power, gas or water pipes can be
damaged! The same applies when drilling holes for dovels before mounting.
Depending on the mounting site, the dedicated transformer may be mounted in the space
between a concrete ceiling and the wood ceiling, for example. The electronic transformer must
not be embedded in insulating material since it could overheat; maintain a clearance of at least
20 cm around the transformer.
The maximum ambient temperature permitted for the electronic transformer is
+50°C, you should therefore keep sufficient clearance from other appliances or
heating/water pipes.
You should not mount the electronic transformer in the direct vicinity of other elec-
tric/electronic devices; keep a clearance of at least 20cm.
• Open the two covers on the left and right of the electronic transformer; for this unscrew the two
screws respectively.
• Connect the mains cable to the corresponding terminal clamps (observe inscription on the
transformer!) on the primary side (label "PR").
• The electronic transformers of type "Profi" (order-no. 574230, 574267, 574269) dispose of
additional output for the mains voltage. It can be used as connection for another electronic
transformer in oder to facilitate the cabling.
Attention!
The maximum connection power at the mains voltage output must not exceed
500W otherwise the electronic transformer will be damaged (Overload of the con-
ducting paths on the board), loss of warranty!
• After installation the illuminants are to be connected to the electronic transformer.
According to the model of the transformer you bought there are one, two or three
connection terminal pairs.
Any number of illuminants can be operated via appropriate cables and distributor
clamps as long as the maximum connnection power of the transformer is not
exceeded.
The connection line between transformer and illuminant must only be 2 m long each
at the maximum.
• Replace the two initially removed covers and screw them down with two screws each. Observe
that the different covers only fit on one specific side each.
These covers simultaneously relieve the strain from the mains cables or low voltage cables.
To operate the halogen transformer without covers is inadmissible!
Make sure to place the cables clearly into the strain reliefs!
• Verify that the correct output voltage has been set. Then turn on the mains voltage and the illu-
minants connected to the transformer will light up (if necessary, activate the light
switch).

Handling
Observe all the safety and mounting instructions contained in these operating
instructions.
• Only use in dry indoor locations. The product must not get damp or wet.
• Never look directly into the lit-up illuminant, this can lead to eye damage!
• Avoid the following unfavourable environmental conditions at the installation location and dur-
ing transportation:
- Damp or excess air humidity
- direct sunlight
- Extreme cold or heat
- Dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- strong vibrations
- strong magnetic fields such as those found in the vicinity of machinery or loudspeakers
• Ensure that the insulation for the entire product is neither damaged nor destroyed. The hous-
ing may not be opened (only for mounting and connecting as described in this users manual)!
The housing does not contain any serviceable parts.
• Check the product for damage before each use!
If you detect any damage, do NOT connect the device to the mains voltage! Do not
turn it on at all in this case; it is no longer usable! There is a risk of a life-threaten-
ing electric shock!
Safe operation must be presumed to be no longer possible:
- if the device is visibly damaged
- if the device no longer works
- if the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of time
- if it was exposed to extraordinary stress caused by transport
Maintenance
The product is maintenance-free for you, you should never take it apart (except for
mounting/connecting as described in these operating instructions).
Repair or maintenance work must be carried out by a specialist.
Disposal
When disposing of an unserviceable product, do so in keeping with the relevant
statutory regulations.
