CHARGER
make a connection from one terminal to another.
Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns
or a fire.
• Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from
the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally oc-
curs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, addi-
tionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the bat-
tery may cause irritation or burns.
• Do not use a battery pack or tool that is damaged or
modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit
unpredictable behaviour resulting in fire, explosion or
risk of injury.
• Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fire or exces-
sive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above
130 °C may cause explosion.
• Follow all charging instructions and do not charge
the battery pack or tool outside the temperature
range specified in the instructions. Charging improp-
erly or at temperatures outside the specified range may
damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.
Service
• Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair
person using only identical replacement parts. This
will ensure that the safety of the power tool is main-
tained.
• Never service damaged battery packs. Service of bat-
tery packs should only be performed by the manufacturer
or authorized service providers.
Additional Safety Warnings
• Read these operating instructions before using the charger.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabili-
ties, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not
play with the appliance.
• Use the charger only to charge Chicago Pneumatic battery
packs.
• Do not charge non rechargeable battery packs (primary
cells); risk of explosion.
• Insert only clean and dry battery packs on to the battery
holder of the charger and tool.
• The charger uses a three-wire ground cable which is
equipped with a third pin to ground the unit and prevent elec-
tric shock. Do not defeat the purpose of this pin. If your out-
let does not support this kind of plug, contact your electrician
to replace your obsolete outlet.
• Replace damaged cables immediately. Damaged cables in-
crease the risk of electric shock.
• Make sure the voltage of the power source is correct before
connecting the power adaptor to the power outlet.
• The main voltage must match the voltage mentioned on the
type plate of the charger.
• The battery pack voltage must match the voltage mentioned
on the type plate of the charger and tool.
• Use a power cord that has been approved for use with the
product and that it matches the voltage and current marked
on the product's electrical range label.
• If you use an extension cable with the power adapter, make
sure that the total ampere rating of all products plugged into
the extension cable does not exceed the ampere rating of the
extension cable.
• Avoid using extension wires with multiple sockets and si-
multaneous operation of multiple devices.
• Only use extension cables outdoors which have been ap-
proved for this purpose.
• Do not use any adapter plugs. Do not abuse cables.
• Place the power cord in a way so that people will not step
on it. Do not place anything on top of the power cord.
• Make sure no one is close to the battery pack when charg-
ing.
• Protect the main cable against heat, sharp edges, oil and
moving parts of the machine.
• Keep cables away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving
parts.
• If a protective cover is used on the battery pack, make sure
the cover is removed.
• Do not pull the plug from the socket by pulling the main ca-
ble.
• Do not carry the charger by holding the main cable.
• We recommend users to operate the charger in a defined
protected and secure area.

• Do not expose the equipment to rain or wet conditions.
• Do not use the charger if dirty or wet.
• Do not cover the charger and keep the air vents of the
charger open.
• Never pour any liquid into an opening. This may cause fire
or electrical shock.
• Make sure the charger is stable when charging, to ensure
that the battery packs do not fall to the floor.
• No metal parts should come in contact with battery holders;
risk of short circuit.
• Disconnect the charger from any AC outlet before cleaning.
Use a damp cloth. Do not use liquid or spray detergents for
cleaning.
• Do not store battery packs along with metal objects; risk of
short circuit.
• Do not dispose off battery packs by throwing them into fire
or through household waste.
