Clearing a Clogged Chute Assembly
Never use your hands to clear a clogged chute assembly.
Shut OFF engine and remain behind handles until all
moving parts have stopped before using the clean-out
tool to clear the chute assembly.
Hand contact with the rotating auger inside the chute assembly
is the most common cause of injury associated with snow
blowers. Never use your hand to clean out the chute assembly.
To clear the chute:
1. SHUT THE ENGINE OFF.
d
2. Remove safety key or disconnect spark plug wire.
3. Wait 10 seconds to be sure the impeller or auger has stopped
rotating.
b
IMPORTANT: Always use a clean-out tool (Part No. 931-2643),
c
not your hands. Refer to the separate supplement for clean-out
