4 Installation
Warning
Use only power units which guarantee reliable electrical
isolation of the voltage supplies in accordance with
IEC 742/EN 60742/VDE 0551 with at least 4 kV isola-
tion resistance (Protected Extra-Low Voltage, PELV).
Switch power packs are permitted providing they guar-
antee reliable isolation in accordance with EN 60950/
VDE 0805.
Remark:
By using PELV power units, you can ensure protection
against electric shock (protection against direct and in-
direct contact) in accordance with EN 60204-1/IEC 204.
For supplying power to PELV networks, you should use
safety transformers with the symbol shown here. The valve
terminal must be earthed in order to guarantee the oper-
ation of certain functions (e.g. EMC).
When the MMI-1F is switched on, it will try to communi-
cate with the SPC200. The SPC200 must be ready for com-
munication.
Always switch on the power supplies for the SPC200 and
the MMI-1F simultaneously or in the following sequence:
1. Power supply for the SPC200
2. Power supply for the MMI-1F
