Handling and Operation

This device is delivered non sterile and must NOT be sterilised before use!

This device CANNOT be used with an over tube.

Mounting the Multiband Ligator:
1. Unpack and check all parts of the system carefully. Ensure that all parts are in
the package.
2. The tracking wire of the Multiband Ligator is already pre-mounted into an
introduction catheter.
3. Straighten the endoscope. We recommend the use of a biopsy valve. Keep its
lid open.
4. Insert the catheter into the biopsy channel until it comes out of the distal tip of
the scope.
5. Fix the handle inside the biopsy channel port.

Hold the distal tip of the introduction catheter and remove the plastic part
by slowly pulling it out of the endoscope until only tracking wire is left for the
next fixing step.
Do not roll up the catheter on your hands to remove as it will block the inner
tracking wire and then prevent the catheter to go out from the biopsy channel
6. Take the band barrel loop and connect it with the tracking wire loop properly as
shown on page 3, making a flat knot.
In order to tighten the knot, pull only the wires instead of pulling the whole cap
as this could misfire a ring before the procedure.
7. Ensure that the handle has the alignment arrows facing each other.
8. Using the small wheel, carefully and slowly pull the band barrel close to the tip
of the scope.
9. Mount the band barrel on the tip of the scope and ensure that the soft part is
properly fixed on the scope in a way that it cannot fall off.
10. Rotate the band barrel in order to prevent the tracking wire being in front of the
endoscope camera.
11. Now bend the endoscope in a J shape as to reproduce the position of
introduction of the endoscope into the patient.
12. Slowly tension the tracking wire by turning the small wheel until you feel a small
tension.
13. Verify the tension is enough by either looking at the monitor if the endoscope is
already connected to the tower and lit up, or looking directly into the cap through
the distal tip of the endoscope if the same is not connected to the tower. The
wires must be in a straight position, tensioned.
Do not tension beyond this slight tension point to avoid shooting a ring.
