1 Safety Information

When operating the device with the power supply unit,
please pay special attention to the following points:
• Ensure that the mains voltage shown on the nameplate
matches that of your electricity supply before plugging the
power supply unit into the mains.
• Only connect the power supply unit when the device is
switched off.
• Do not reach for a device that has fallen into water.
Disconnect the mains plug immediately.
• Do not use electrical devices whilst taking a bath or shower.
Do not store electrical devices in places where they might fall
into the bath tub or wash-basin.
• Do not use the device under blankets or pillows.
• Never use the device on soft surfaces such as a bed or sofa
which could block the vents. Keep the vents free from dust,
hair and the like.
• Keep the mains cable away from hot surfaces.
• Do not use the device if the supply cable is damaged, the
power unit is faulty, the device is not working correctly, if it
has been dropped or has fallen into water or has been
damaged.
• Never carry, pull or twist the device by the mains cable and do
not get the cable jammed.
• Only pull the plug out of the wall outlet with dry hands if the
device has been turned off and is no longer in use and also
when replacing parts of the device.
When using storage batteries, please pay special attention
to the following points:
• Never use the device whilst taking a bath or shower.
• If liquid should get into the device, remove the rechargeable
battery immediately and discontinue use. Contact your specialist
dealer or the service centre.
• The MEDISANA USN works with particularly low-pollution Ni-
MH rechargeable batteries that can be charged using the mains
adapter.
• Contact your specialist shop or MEDISANA if the mains
adapter is faulty with the result that the rechargeable batteries
can no longer be charged. Do not use any other mains adapter
since there is a danger of fire and the warranty will be
invalidated.
• The fully charged storage batteries should be kept in a cool and
safe place if the device is not going to be used for a longish
period.
