Installing cables and components
Guide the connection cables of the ultrasound sensors from the outside
through the bumper to the trunk opening. Carefully place the cables inside so
that no moisture penetrates the inside of the car.
Attach the control unit with the enclosed adhesive pad. A suitable place is the
side wall in the watertight trunk close to a taillight. Make sure that the connec-
tion lines of the sensors reach up to the sensor units.
Install the connection cables of the sensors in line with the connection diagram
in „Individual parts".
When running cables in door frames etc., make sure that no
safety-related equipment (such as side airbags) is affected or damaged.
Installing the display unit
The core of the parking aid is the display (4) with integrated warning buzzer. This is mounted on a base
with a ball joint.
The display units are attached with the installed adhesive pad. For this purpose, pull off the protective
paper from the adhesive pad and press the base onto the intended site. Attach the display with the rear
plug-type socket to the base. You can remove the display anytime.
When selecting the installation site, make sure that the display is not in the direct visibili-
ty range of the driver or in safety-relevant areas (airbags, etc.).
The surface to which it is attached must be absolutely clean and grease-free. Do not
attach the pad below 5 °C, otherwise the pad will not stick properly.
