Supplying charging power
The top Micro USB charging port supplies the charging power. The charging port is protected
with a rubber cover.
Open the cover and connect the included USB charging cable to the Micro USB charging port.
Connect the USB charging cable to a suitable USB charging socket (computer, USB charger,
etc.).
The charging symbol will be shown in the display after a few seconds.
If the battery symbol is filled in green, the charging is complete, and you can start using the
device.
Remove the charging cable from the power source and the instrument.
Put the rubber cover carefully back into place to protect against moisture and dust.
Inserting the memory card
A micro SD memory card is included for storing the thermal images.
Remove the rubber cover from the upper side of the instrument. The slot on the left is for the
micro SD memory card.
Insert the micro SD card into the slot, the labelled side facing forward (contacts facing the
display).
Push the memory card carefully into the slot, until it locks into place.
Put the rubber cover carefully back into place to protect against moisture and dust.
Operation
Press and hold the red on/off button on the keypad below the display for approx. 2 seconds to
switch the device on.
The camera will turn on and display the startup screen with "VOLTCRAFT" for about 4 seconds.
The image sensor is also calibrated during this time. You can hear a faint clicking sound.
Once the automatic calibration is complete, the display will show the currently recorded thermal
image.
The temperature value recorded from the centre of the image will be displayed in the upper
left corner of the screen. The temperature range of the current thermal image is shown with a
colour bar on the right-hand side of the screen.
The temperature is measured continuously with an update frequency of 9 Hz.
Press the index finger release button on the ergonomic pistol grip, if you want to store a thermal
image. A command prompt on the display will ask you if the picture should be saved. Confirm
with the tick to save or use X to abort the process. The two arrow keys directly below the display
are used for the display screen.
Press and hold the red on/off button for approx. 2 seconds to switch the device off. The device
turns off.
You can also adjust various instrument settings such as language, date and time, etc.
These settings, detailed operating steps and the symbol explanations are available in the de-
tailed operating instructions on CD or via the download link.
