Periodic System Maintenance (continued):
Filters must be replaced periodically. This will protect the RO Membrane from being destroyed by chlorine and also prevent the
Filters from plugging with sediment. Refer to page 11 for the replacement schedule.
NOTE: Place a tray or towel under the RO system to catch any water drips before uninstalling the filter sumps.
For Model PQC3RO:
1. Refer to "Un-installing the Quick-Connect Filter" on page 6 to remove the 1st Stage Filter (leftmost of the system).
2. Then, remove the 3rd Stage Filter (rightmost of the system).
3. Discard the Filters in a proper manner.
4. Refer to "Installing the Quick-Connect Filter" on page 6 to install the new Filters in the reverse order: Install the 3rd-Stage
Filter first, then the 1st Stage Filter.
5. Go to step 6.
For Model PQC4RO:
1. Refer to "Un-installing the Quick-Connect Filter" on page 6 to remove the 1st Stage Filter (leftmost of the system).
2. Then, remove the 2nd and 4th Stage Filters.
3. Discard the Filters in a proper manner.
4. Refer to "Installing the Quick-Connect Filter" on page 6 to install the new Filters in the reverse order: Install the 4th Stage
Filter first, then the 2nd Stage Filter and then the 1st Stage Filter.

For Model PQC5RO:
1. Refer to "Un-installing the Quick-Connect Filter" on page 6 to remove the 1st Stage Filter (leftmost of the system).

4. Discard the filters in a proper manner.
5. Refer to "Installing the Quick-Connect Filter" on page 6 to install the new Filters in the reverse order: Install the GAC
Polishing filter first, then the 3rd and 2nd Stage Filters, and then the 1st Stage Filter last.
6. Turn off the Ball Valve of the Storage Tank and turn the RO Faucet open by lifting the handle upward. The water begins to
trickle out (it will come out very slow). It is possible to confirm that the RO Membrane is working by collecting and measuring
water dripping from the RO Faucet with RO Tank Valve closed. This is the RO Membrane production rate (approx 80-150mL/
min). Allow to drip for 15 minutes.
7. Close the RO Faucet and then open the Ball Valve of the Storage Tank.
The RO system is ready for use!

RO Membrane Replacement:

The RO Membrane must be replaced as stated. The Membrane is critical for effective reduction of certification claims. Refer to
