- Keep the ventilation slots clean and dust-free. Periodically blow out all air passages with dry compressed air.
- Clean the machine with a damp cloth and a soft brush. NEVER use solvents to clean plastic parts. They could
possibly dissolve or damage the material.
- Clean the cutting and discharge area of all objects which could block the fan.
- After using the unit, always empty and shake out the vacuum bag. Wear safety glasses and a dust mask
during this operation!
- When required, at least once a year, wash the collection bag with a soap solution and leave the bag to dry
properly. Never use a wet collection bag!
2. Transportation
- Stop the engine.
- Pull out mains plug and remove the power cord from the machine.
- Leave the motor to cool down (approx. 30 minutes).
- When transporting the machine in or on a vehicle, ensure that it cannot move around unintentionally.
3. Storage
- Clean the machine.
- Check for loose and damaged parts. Repair or replace damaged parts and tighten loose screws, nuts and bolts.
- Keep the machine only in clean and dry rooms when the engine is cold.
- Store the machine in a room to prevent unauthorised use or damage. Keep it away from children.
4. Changing the carbon brushes (Fig 16 to 18)
The Motor employs carbon brushes which are consumable parts. When they become worn to or near the "wear
limit", it could result in motor trouble. The power tool must then be sent to an after-sales service agent.
When you have to replacement the carbon brushes by yourself, please proceed as following:
- Both carbon brushes should be replaced at the same time.
- Use only identical carbon brushes.
- Undo the screws and remove the motor right housing (16).
- Take out the worn carbon brushes, and then insert the new ones.
- Reinstall the motor right housing (16), while being careful to ensure it does not pinch the wires, and secure it
firmly with the screws.
CAUTION!
Should the wires be pinched by the motor cover or come in contact with the armature or rotating parts of the motor,
a serious danger of electric shock to the operator will be created. Exercise extreme caution in disassembling and
reassembling the motor cover, following the above procedures exactly.
Do not attempt to disassemble any parts other than those necessary to effect replacement of the carbon brush.
