DESCRIPTION
The HOROTEC ® MAGTEST device will enable you to check the magnetic remanence of a
watch, a movement or of any watch component, displaying its value in micro Tesla, and will
also enable you to demagnetise them.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1) Step one : plug the adapter (DC / 12 V / 1 A) into the device.
2) Power on : by pressing the ON button (short press).
3) Test the magnetism : on the surface of the «Detect Zone» sensor (see LCD display).
4) Demagnetise : on the «Demag Zone» by pressing ON/OFF
5) Check the magnetism, and carry out demagnetisation again : repeat steps 3 and 4 if necessary.
6) Power off : press and hold ON/OFF for 3 secs

ON / OFF BUTTON
Press on to activate the magnetic remanence search.
If the value displayed (µT) is greater than 000, reset by pressing the OFF button once.
In case of magnetic remanence, the value displayed µT is the differential between the value of
the Earth's magnetic field and the magnetism of the tested part.

COMPASS MODE

Press and hold the ON button for 2 seconds: compass mode. In this mode, the device can be
used as a compass. To calibrate the compass, press and hold the ON button for 2 seconds,
and turn the device slowly in all three axes. When the numbers on the screen stabilise, save by
pressing the ON button, as per the message displayed on the LCD screen. Compass calibration
is rarely necessary, unless an excessive deviation from true magnetic north is detected.
