4. Safety regulations

Use of this unit assumes that the user observes the conven-
tional safety regulations and has to read the certificate in
order to eliminate faulty operation of the device.
The following items must also be complied with:
• Do not charge the device inside the Ex-area
• Do not replace/remove the battery pack inside the Ex-area
• The battery pack may only be charged outside the Ex-area
• Only to use with battery pack AM CT50 -Ex
• Do not take spare battery packs into the ex-area
• The device must be protected against strong impacts
• The device must be protected against high electrostatic
charge generating processes.
• The equipment shall not be used in the hazardous area
without either the Scan Handle "CT50-ND" or the enclosed
Hand Strap fitted. The equipment should not be used in
the hazardous areas without either Ex approved accessory
fitted. This is due to electrostatic safety associated with the
equipment in combination with either of the two approved
Ex accessories. The equipment is not electrostatically safe
with none of the approved Ex accessories fitted.
• Additionally the electrostatic safety of the equipment relies
on the end user being suitably electrostatically earthed
via appropriate electrostatic clothing i.e. electrostatic dis-
sipative shoes and gloves (end user hands with no gloves
is considered electrostatically dissipative).
• Only those accessories approved by ecom instruments
GmbH may be used
• Do not use the product in zone 0,1 or 20 and 21
