Safety and application notes
– Any mounting position.
– Protect position switch from contact with flammable material and accidental contact by people.
– When selecting installation material, take device overtemperature into account.
– When painting, cover position switch.
– Mounting according to EN ISO 14119
– To ensure proper function, fit position switch such that the actuation button is protected from
ingress of dirt, such as chips or sand.
– Connect operating elements permanently with the protective device, for example with
non-reusable screws or rivets.
– Secure auxiliary release mechanism with a lead seal after installation to prevent operational use.
– Do not use the position switch as mechanical stop.
– Do not use the position switch as transport safety device.
– When position switches are connected in series, the performance level to EN ISO 13849-1
may be reduced due to a lower fault detection.
– The overall concept of the control system must be validated to EN ISO 13849-2.

Sicherheits- und Anwendungshinweise
– Einbaulage beliebig.
– Positionsschalter gegen Berührung mit brennbarem Material und gegen
versehentliches Berühren durch Personen schützen.
– Bei Auswahl des Installationsmaterials Übertemperatur am Gerät berücksichtigen.
– Bei Lackierarbeiten Positionsschalter abdecken.
– Montage nach EN ISO 14119
– Positionsschalter so montieren, dass der Betätigungskopf gegen eindringende
Verschmutzung, z. B. Späne, Sand etc. geschützt ist. Nur so ist die Voraussetzung für
eine einwandfreie dauerhafte Funktion gewährleistet.
– Betätiger unlösbar mit der Schutzeinrichtung verbinden, z. B. mit Einwegschrauben
oder Nieten.
– Hilfsentriegelung nach Montage verplomben/versiegeln, um betriebsmäßige
Benutzung zu unterbinden.
– Positionsschalter nie als mechanischen Anschlag verwenden.
– Positionsschalter nie als Transportsicherung verwenden.
– Bei Hintereinanderschaltung von Positionsschaltern kann sich der Performance
Level nach EN ISO 13849-1 auf Grund verringerter Fehlererkennung reduzieren.
– Das Gesamtkonzept der Steuerung ist nach EN ISO 13849-2 zu validieren.

Regular maintenance activities

– Check freedom of movement of operating elements.
– Check cable entry and connections for damage.
– Check leading/seal for damage.
– Store the spare actuator and key in a safe place.
