Installation
UPS Unit State when asserting EPO with AC line present:

To restart the UPS unit after asserting EPO with AC line present:
Option 1:
1. Verify that the EPO assertion has been removed or cleared.
2. Press OFF button until you hear a click (approx. 1 second).
3. Press ON button and UPS output will turn back on.
Option 2:
1. Verify that the EPO assertion has been removed or cleared.
2. Remove AC line power to the UPS unit.
3. Reapply AC line power. Now the UPS will start back up in normal operation mode.

To restart the UPS unit after asserting EPO without AC line power:
1. Verify that the EPO assertion has been removed or cleared.
2. Reapply AC line power to the UPS unit. Now the UPS will start back up in normal operation
mode.

External Battery Pack Connector (configuration varies by model):
Use to connect optional Tripp Lite Battery Packs for additional runtime. Use only Tripp Lite external
battery packs with overcurrent protection. Adding external batteries will increase recharge time as
well as runtime. Installation should be performed by qualified service personnel only. Refer to the
battery pack owner's manual for complete installation instructions. Make sure cables are firmly
inserted into their connectors. Small sparks may result during battery connection; this is normal.
Do not connect or disconnect battery packs when the UPS is operating on battery power. The
following battery packs are available in the table below. Contact Tripp Lite Customer Support at
773.869.1234 for assistance in determining the appropriate Tripp Lite battery pack to connect.

When using external batteries, be sure to use the ground strap to bond the UPS to the metal
enclosure of the UPS in accordance with your external battery pack Owner's Manual.
The equipotential bonding terminal / screw on the rear of your unit is provided for bonding the UPS
enclosure to the external battery packs. Be sure to use the ground strap for all two-conductor
external battery packs. Three pin/conductor battery packs are equipped with a ground bond plug.
Refer to the battery pack instructions for complete connection information and safety warnings.
*The BP24V15RT2U battery pack uses a plastic enclosure. Use of a ground strap is not required.
