When the protection cap is mounted, two safety contacts are electrically
connected. The pilot arc can only be started if the wear parts are mounted.
There are two connection variants for the manual torch, which depend on the
system:
WARNING
Arc eye
The arc produced for cutting can damage the eyes.
• Wear your personal protective equipment.
• Check the personal protective equipment before every cutting process.
NOTICE
• The ABICUT 155 cutting torch may only be operated by qualified
personnel (in Germany, see TRBS 1203).
• Please consult the operating instructions for the welding components,
such as the welding power source and the robot control unit.
• Check the actual gas flow on the measuring instruments or by closing
and opening the corresponding gas outlet openings on the torch.
• All necessary parameters (such as the cutting current, soft start,
compressed air, etc.) must be set on the power source in accordance with
the cutting operation.
• Information and tips on the direct cutting process (technique, procedure,
materials, plasma...) can be found in the relevant technical literature.
1 Open the compressed air valve.
2 Switch on the power source.
3 Press the trigger on the handle. After the initial gas flow period, the pilot arc
is ignited by high-frequency pulses.
4 Pass the torch directly over the workpiece; the cutting arc will develop.
5 The cutting arc is interrupted as soon as contact with the workpiece is lost.
