GENERAL DESCRIPTION

4.1
General description
See fig. 4 in the back of this manual
The flexible extraction arm has been specially designed
for extracting harmful fumes and gasses which are
released during the most common welding processes.
Thanks to the patented construction and the unique
principle of the rotating of the hood the extraction arm
is easily manoeuvrable which enables constant
adaptation of the working reach to the specific
requirements of the user.
The extraction arm can be mounted on wall mounting
brackets (TNB) and extension cranes (NEC 2 or NEC 4).
As an option the extraction arm can be fitted with a
working lamp (WL) and an automatic START/STOP
device (AST). For this purpose see the corresponding
manual(s). The extraction arm is not suitable for
mounting on a mobile fume extractor.

Operation
Welding fume is extracted by a separate fan and via the
extraction hood it enters the extraction arm. The
extraction arm discharges the polluted air to an air
cleaner (with filter) or directly to the outside. Every
extraction arm has been fitted with a throttle valve
which can be controlled using the rotary knob. The
throttle valve is mostly used when several extraction
arms are integrated in a line installation; in such
configurations closing the throttle valve prevents the
loss of costly heated air.

INSTALLATION
5.1
Mounting the extraction arm on a wall
mounting bracket (TNB)
Mount the connection flange using the four
hexagon-head bolts and the washers on the wall
brackets in such a way that the cable lead-through
hole is situated at the wall side and the long end of
the pin is pointing to the front, in line with the cable
lead-through hole (see fig. 5 in the back of this
manual).
Mount the hanging adapter on the hinge rod using
the bolts and nuts.
Mount the spring bracket and position the bush and
the flexible hose around the connection flange.
If the extraction arm has been fitted with a WL and/
or AST, you should now fit the supply cable
(NCW 11). For this purpose see the corresponding
manual.
5.2
Mounting the extraction hood
Position the bush and the also supplied flexible hose
temporarily over the end of the arm section of the
extraction hood.
Mount the extraction hood using the bolt and nut.
If the extraction arm has been fitted with a WL and/
or AST, you should now fit the supply cable. For
this purpose see the corresponding manual.
Establish an airtight sealing of the extraction arm.
For this purpose slide the flexible hose over the
connection flange/hanging adapter and the middle
hinge and fit the bushes.
