6 Start up
Unpack the unit and place it on a suf-
ficiently stable substructure (load bear-
ing capacity at least 150 kg). Remove
film carefully and examine the unit for
signs of transport damage. Make CEE
electrical connection. Open flap to cur-
ing area. Pull glass insert forwards with
metal frame until the package can be
removed. Remove gas hose from the
package and check the rotary plate for
damage. Remove the three upper Sty-
rofoam inserts. Take the drawer right
out. Remove the protective film from
the displacer. Connect the gas hose and

Only nitrogen or carbon dioxide may
be used as protective gases. Do not
use any flammable or poisonous
gases. Always observe the general
regulations for safety and prevention
of accidents when handling the cho-
sen gas. When using the protective gas
it is possible to carry out the polym-
erization in an atmosphere with little
oxygen. The protective gas replaces
the air in the polymerization chamber
and thus reduces the oxygen content in
the polymerization area of the PCU 90.

This means that it is possible to post
cure components without an inhibi-
tion layer. The protective gas supply
is controlled automatically once the
polymerization process starts.
The flow rate is pre-set (30 l/m). The
adjustment can be changed on the
regulating needle valve on the front
of the unit (observe the safety notes).
The output pressure of the bottle can
be modified on the pressure regula-
tor of the gas bottle and it must be
set to 5 bar.
