Prior to use

The contact grill may only be used
for the intended purpose in complian-
ce with this operating manual. Please
read the operating manual carefully
prior to implementation. It will provide
instructions for the use, cleaning and
care of the appliance. We will not
assume any liability for potential
damages in the event of non-compli-
ance. Store these operating instruc-
tions carefully and give it and the
appliance to any potential second
owner. Please also observe the war-
ranty information at the end.
The appliance is not intended for
commercial use.
The warning triangle identifies all
instructions important for safety.
Please always follow these; otherwise
you may be injured or the appliance
could be damaged.
The original packaging is specifically
designed to guarantee safe transpor-
tation in a service event. Please keep
the packaging therefore at least for
the duration of the warranty period.

The voltage must correspond with
the information on the model tag

4
protect it from sharp edges,
moisture, heat or oil. Do not
connect the appliance, if the sup-
ply line is damaged. It must then
be immediately replaced by our
central customer service or a
similarly qualified person. Incor-
rect repairs may result in consi-
derable hazards for the user.
Do not operate the appliance or
pull the power plug immediately,
if it is damaged or if a defect is
suspected after a fall or such. In
these cases, have the appliance
repaired.
Do not operate the device out-
doors.
Do not place the contact grill on
hot surfaces, such as stove tops
or such or near open gas flames;
the housing could melt.
This appliance is not intended to
be used by persons (including
children) with limited physical,
sensory or intellectual faculties or
who lack experience and/or kno-
wledge, unless they are supervi-
sed by a person responsible for
their safety or received instruc-
tions on how to use the appliance.
Please guarantee that children
do not have an opportunity to
play with the appliance.
Caution! The appliance becomes
hot. Only contact handles and
control knob.
Pull the power plug, if the contact
grill will not be used for an exten-
ded period.
Only store the appliance when
cooled.
Use
The appliance is suitable for grilling
steaks, sausages, hamburgers, poul-
try parts, fish, vegetables and sand-
wiches. Breaded food may not be
prepared.
You can refresh pita bread and simi-
lar baked goods by baking.
Start-up
Clean the grill surfaces with a damp
cloth and some dishwashing liquid
prior to the first use. Rub in several
drops of oil after drying.
Place the appliance on a level, heat-
resistant work area that is protected
from water-spray.
Push the grease pan into the recep-
tacle below the handle. Empty it later
during grilling in time, so that it does
not overflow.
Set the control knob to stage 4 for hea-
ting. After connecting the power plug to
a shockproof socket, the red control
light will indicate that the contact grill is
heating. The grilling temperature will be
reached after a few minutes and the
control light changes from red to green.
Some smoke may develop during the
first use of the new appliance. This is
technology-related and not a reason
for concern.

Preparation

Begin at control knob setting 4. As
soon as the green control light is illu-
minated, you can deposit the grilling
material. Carefully close the applian-
ce. The red control light will light up
again after a short time. And the
appliance will heat up again to main-
tain the set temperature.
The required grilling period depends
on the type of grilling material, its
thickness and your personal taste.
Open the appliance from time to time
to judge its progress.
If the grilling material becomes dark
too quickly on the outside, while the
inside remains raw, select a lower
control knob setting and grill some-
what longer. If you prefer meat raw
on the inside, set the control knob
higher.
Remove the finished food with a
wooden or plastic spatula.
If the green control light is illuminated
again, you can add another portion
for grilling.

Useful information

• The upper grilling plate must
contact the entire surface of the
grilling material to achieve an even
result. The grilling material must
therefore be no thicker than 2.5
