General Application
The RA24ZC Zero Clearance Kit with RF24B heater
may be installed in new wood frame construction with
type "B" venting.
The Zero Clearance Kit is also intended for applications
where an existing gas or wood burning fireplace is
being removed in whole or in part, without disturbing
the surrounding wall finish.
•
The zero clearance box may be roughed-in on its
own and the RF24B heater installed later.
•
The minimum cavity for installing the Zero
Clearance Kit is shown in the Framing Dimensions
diagram next page. Existing type "B" gas venting
may be utilized provided the integrity is intact.
•
Existing mantel clearances must conform to the
chart.
•
For visual reasons, the zero
clearance box is painted
black on the inside; it is
recommended to paint the
vent liner and gas line with
high heat paint after installing.

  • Page 4 Install Heat Shield and Convection Baffle 1. Place heat shield into ZC box through the notched cut-outs on each side at the top of box. 2. Place the tabs at the rear edge of the heat shield into the slots. Secure the heat shield using 2 screws on each side.
