2.2) Storage
– Press the pressure release lever (41) to release oil pressure of the pump.
– Locate the pump in the relevant metallic case (VAL HTEP) paying attention to the fl exible hose
that has to be rolled up with care and without sudden bending around the pump itself.
3. WARNING
The tool is robust and requires very little daily maintenance.
Compliance with the following points, should help to maintain the optimum performance of the tool:
3.1) Accurate cleaning
Dust, sand and dirt are a danger for any hydraulic device.
Every day, after use, the tool must be cleaned with a clean cloth, taking care to remove any residual,
especially close to pivots and moveable parts.
3.2) Storage
(Ref. to Fig. 3)
When not in use, the tool should be stored and transported in the steel case, to prevent damage.
Steel case (VAL HTEP) size 465x205x60 mm (18.3x8.1x2.3 in.) and weight 2,5 Kg (5.5 lbs).
3.3) Flexible hose
The fl exible hose is designed for high-pressure operation and should not be tightly bent, knotted,
kinked or squashed.
Take care when storing the pump in the steel case, the hose should be coiled in wide loop.
High pressure fl exible hoses are subject to a natural ageing process which can result in a reduc-
tion in performance potentially aff ecting safety of the operator. As a result their life span is limited.
In order to ensure safe use of their units, Cembre recommends replacing the hose within 10 years
from the date printed on the fi ttings.
Before using the pump always check the integrity of the fl exible hose and the quick couplers
making sure there are no abrasions, cuts, deformations or swellings.
4. MAINTENANCE
Air in the hydraulic circuit may aff ect the performance of the tool; e.g. no lower die advancement,
slow advancement of the lower die; lower die pulsating.
In this case proceed as follows:
4.1) To purge air bubbles from hydraulic circuit
a – Turn upside down the pump with head connected and block it upright in a vice (see Fig. 3) with
the mobile handle (29) wide apart.
b – Unscrew the main handle (04) from the body (13) to expose the rubber oil reservoir (03).
