- Do not over-press the machine in order to avoid overloading! Press with proper pressure for better grinding
effects.
- Make overlapping sweeps and keep the head in constant motion.
CAUTION: Never stop too long in the same place or there will be wave marks.
- Good grinding effects and quality are mainly decided by choosing the right abrasive material. Ensure that the
sanding disc is suited to the task: coarse grit paper may remove material quickly, and fine grit paper may clog too
often and not shape down the surface.
- Once finishing the sanding task, switch off the machine.
CAUTION: To prevent accidents, make sure to turn the switch off and disconnect to the plug from the
power receptacle.
CAUTION: Repair, modification and inspection must be must be carried out by a LEMAN Authorized Service
Center.
In the operation and maintenance of power tools, the safety regulations and standards prescribed in each country
must be observed.
1. Inspecting the machine
- Keep the machine clean.
- Since use of a dull tool will degrade efficiency and cause possible motor malfunction, replace the tool as soon as
abrasion is noted.
- All plastic parts should be cleaned with a soft damp cloth. NEVER use solvents to clean plastic parts. They could
possibly dissolve or damage the material.
- Clean the vacuum swivel connector.
-
Regularly inspect all mounting screws and ensure that they are properly tightened. Should any of the screws be
loose, retighten them immediately. Failure to do so could result in serious hazard.
2. Maintenance of the motor
The motor unit winding is the very "heart" of the power tool. Exercise due care to ensure the winding does not
become damaged and/or wet with oil or water.
- For safe and proper working, always keep the machine and ventilation slots clean.
- Periodically blow out all air passages with dry compressed air.
3. Changing the sanding plate (Fig 13 & 14)
The sanding plate (18) must be perfectly flat to get good sanding results. If it is deformed or damaged it will cause
very uneven sanding. Always replace it when damaged.
- Peel the sanding disc (17) away.
- Hold the sanding pad (18) firmly and use the hex wrench to unscrew the screw M6x16.
- Dismount the damaged pad and install a new one.
- Tighten the screw M6x16.
4. Inspecting the carbon brushes (Fig 15 & 16)
The Motor employs carbon brushes which are consumable parts. When they become worn to or near the "wear
limit", it could result in motor trouble. The power tool must then be sent to an after-sales service agent.
When you have to replacement the carbon brushes by yourself, please following the order:
- Both carbon brushes should be replaced at the same time.
- Use only identical carbon brushes.
- Loosen and remove the two brush covers (25) on both sides of the motor housing.
- Remove the carbon brushes (26).
- After replacing the carbon brushes, reinstall and screw the two brush covers (25).
5. Transportation
- Stop the machine.
- Pull out mains plug and remove the power cord from the machine.
- Leave the motor to cool down (approx. 30 minutes).
- When transporting the machine in or on a vehicle, ensure that it cannot move around unintentionally.
