4.1 Preventive maintenance

i
• Keep air tools clean and stored safely after using them.
• Remove flange head after each working day. Loosen all 4 ball screws all the way and turn of the flange head. Clean
thread on the tool and thread inside the flange head. Put flange head back on the tool and tighten the 4 ball screws
slightly again to assure the flange head will not turn unwanted when using the tool.
• If you want to fixate the height don't do this with the 4 ball screws. When on the correct height replace just one of
these 4 screws with an ordinary 4mm bolt of the same size.
• When air tools need repair, air tools should be checked by the manufacturer or the licensed agent. Repairing by the
operator can cause failure and serious damage to the air tool and the operator.
• When replacement parts are needed, only approved parts from the manufacturer should be used. Unauthorized
parts can cause failure and serious damage to the operator and the machine.
• When special tools are needed for disassembly or re-assembly of air tools, inquire to the licensed agent or
manufacturer.
• Vent the pressurized air out for purification from the air tank every day and mount air filter at the tank inlet.
• Supply proper lubricants for air tools every day to protect against the acid causing damage to inner parts.
• Do not use improper or broken hoses or connectors.
4.1.1 Replacing the Adapter Spacer
In order to ensure correct operation and extend the service life of the bevel heads, it is essential to ensure that the
surface of the adapter spacer is unblemished, i.e. without pits, deep scratches and\or broken edges. The adapter pin
should also be undamaged and retain its original length. The adapter spacer and/or adapter pin may get damaged
under certain conditions, however both can easily be replaced.
• Screw all M4 ball screws (nearly) out of the flange head / height adjustment.
• Turn the flange head until it comes off.
• Remove the hex screw (C) on the side of the spacer (A).
• Then screw both M3 bolts (D), each time by a half-turn, deeper and deeper in the spacer. This removes the spacer
from the spindle. Remove the damaged spacer when it has become free. Unscrew the two M3 bolts from the spacer
you just removed and keep them.
• Remove the damaged spacer when it comes off the spindle. Unscrew the two M3 bolts from the spacer and keep
these for later use.
• Install the new spacer, ensuring that it rests securely on the spindle shoulder. Use a rubber mallet if necessary.
• Replace the adapter pin (E), ensuring the top is level with the top of the spindle.
• Retighten the hex screw on the side of the spacer.
• To put ball bearing screws back in, rotate depth adjustment and screw the ball crews in simultaneously, when it
clicks you have reach ed the corect depth
