Volume control
This control sets the 'post EQ' volume from the preamplifier into the power amplifier and
thus determines the overall level of the amp. It should be adjusted in conjunction with the
input gain control.
The power output stage of the Brat has been designed using only discrete components
(they won't say a word to your girlfriend, honest!), with no integrated circuits present
whatsoever. This has enabled the designers to produce a very 'responsive' power
amplifier which allows the sound of the output stage to be 'coloured' by the loudspeaker
into which it is used.
The power amplifier has been designed to overdrive in a musical and responsive way and
at higher volume settings, much of the 'gain' in the sound is actually coming from the
power stage itself. Do not be afraid to use the amp with its master volume turned up full -
you will not damage the unit and may even prefer the sound it makes when cranked up
'to the max'.
Reverb control
This control sets the amount of reverberation effect from the built in 3 spring reverb.
Reverberation is added to provide a sense of depth and space to a guitar sound when
playing at lower levels,or in a small room.
