INTRODUCTION Congratulations on your purchase of a Velocette SE. The Velocette SE is part of the Trace Elliot Velocette range. It is a no nonsense, compact, purists valve guitar amplifier and has the minimum controls necessary to produce a good range of sounds, from clean to overdriven, into either its own single Celestion Vintage 10 speaker or separate 16 ohm cabinet. - Page 3 External Speaker Output This is provided so that the user can connect the Velocette SE to an external 16Ω speaker cabinet, such as a 4 x 12, for a different sound. This is useful for both live and studio use and can radically change the sound of the amplifier.

Using Different Valves Looking at the VELOCETTE SE from the rear with the rear panel removed you will see three valves, the two on the left (V1 and V2) will be factory fitted with ECC83/12AX7’s and the one on the right (V3) will be an EL34.

KT88 for real ‘dirty’ sounding tone. Experimentation with different valves is not compulsory, the Velocette SE has been tweaked so that with the factory fitted valves a good range of sounds are instantly available, but there are some tones that only a valve change could achieve. So if you’re the sort of person that enjoys experimentation in the pleasures of life then go ahead and have fun! (Just be sure to respect your partners limits.) -
