A Word about Pine
The white pine in this chair was cut in the Muskoka and Near North regions of Ontario.
White Pine is very weather-resistant and can last many decades without rotting. Pine
should, however, have a protective finish applied to prevent discolouration. Being a nat-
ural product some surface roughness may occur due to changing moisture conditions.
This will not affect the durability of our product. If you are unhappy with any part in this
Muskoka Chair Kit, or if you have any questions on assembly, please feel free to contact
us.
We will replace defective part(s) free of charge for up to one (1) year from date of
purchase.
Finishing Pine
We recommend lightly sanding with 120 grit sandpaper prior to applying a finish. A coat
of outdoor stain covered with two (2) coats of exterior varnish will provide a durable
glossy finish. If you prefer a flat finish, a couple of coats of exterior stain will do. Ordinary
varnishes look great initially, but if exposed to direct sunlight and other elements weath-
er quickly (you'll need to recoat every season). Exterior paint is another option (two to
three coats). New types of stain/varnish provide an excellent 2 -3 coat system which
should last many years before recoating may be necessary.
