compressed air to remove any dust deposits. The torch shield cup and tip should be periodically
inspected for wear or damage. Replace the tip if it becomes damaged or enlarged compared to its
original size. If surfaces are particularly oxizied, clean them with extra fine abrasive paper. Replace
the air diffuser ring if it is burned or cracked. Replace the electrode when the crater on the end surface
is approximately 0.075". Failure to maintain the system, its consumables and the working environment
will decrease the system's performance and produce results below optimal performance levels and may
damage the PLASMA TORCH.

Consumable Maintenance

CAUTION! Always tighten the ELECTRODE with the provided
wrench. A loose ELECTRODE can further loosen and damage
the PLASMA TORCH. SHIELD CUP should be hand-tightened.
Over-tightening could damage PLASMA TORCH.
CAUTION! Inspect shield cup, nozzle, air diffuser and electrode for wear and debris before
cutting or whenever cutting speed has been significantly reduced.
CAUTION! Use only dry compressed air for cleaning. Do not point the jet of air at the
electronic circuits contained within this system.
CAUTION! Do not operate torch without a nozzle or electrode in place. Be sure to use
genuine Forney parts.
NOTE: It is recommended that the electrode and nozzle should be replaced at the same time to insure
even wear and optimal performance.
PERIODIC MAINTENANCE TO BE PERFORMED
• Check the indicator lights and correct any fault
conditions.
• Check & clean shield cup, nozzle, air diffuser
ring and electrode for proper installation, wear,
damage (burns, distortions or cracks), dirt, debris
and restricted holes.
• Check shield cup shut down system.
• Replace any cracked or damaged parts.
• Check the torch trigger for damage.
• Check torch body for wear, exposed wires or
damage, replace as required.
• Check outer covering of work clamp lead for wear,
repair or replace as required.
• Check the power cord for wear or damage,
replace if damaged.
• Blow out or vacuum inside.
