This adapter is designed for use on most all ATV applications where the original equipment muffler outlet has a flat or concave surface, and no
male pipe outlet. This adapter can also be used on applications where the male outlet is too short to attach the system, by simply sliding the
adapter over the existing male outlet.
1. Hold the adapter centered over the exhaust outlet and mark the four mounting holes with scribe or marking pen, and then center punch holes.
2. Drill the four holes with a 1/8" bit.
3. Using a 3/16" pin punch or awl like that shown in the picture, and a small hammer, carefully drive the punch into each hole to enlarge it to the
size that will accept the 1/4" self tapping screws. This procedure rolls some of the metal into the hole, and will make the self-tapping screws grip
better. Be very careful not to enlarge the holes past the maximum of 3/16", so the self-tapping screw will tighten properly.
4. If your application has a concave surface on the muffler outlet, it is probably a good idea to use the supplied gasket, in which case you should
glue it to the adapter with Orange High- Temp RTV Silicone Gasketmaker, as shown in the picture, and let the glue dry to hold the gasket in
place. After the glue has dried sufficiently to hold the gasket in place, apply the high-temp silicone liberally to both mounting surfaces and the
bolt holes and go to step six.
5. If your application has a flat surface on the muffler outlet, you probably don't need the gasket, just apply the high temp silicone liberally to both
surfaces and the
mounting holes, and go to next step.
6. Hold the adapter in place and, using a ratchet and socket, start the self tapping screws by pushing on them and turning them at the same time.
You may have to tap the screws lightly with a hammer, to get them in far enough for the threads to catch. Tighten the screw securely, but use
care not to over tighten to the point of stripping the threads.
7. This adapter has a 1 3/8" o.d. so the Stealth muffler can now slide over it and be installed direct, using the 1 3/8" muffler clamp in your kit.
8. IMPORTANT. If you are using the 80 degree adapter elbow pipe for the connection between the bolt on adapter and the Stealth muffler, you
must slide the #59 split bushing from your muffler kit on to the bolt on adapter outlet before installing the elbow. This bushes the outlet up to
the proper 1 1/2" size needed to install the elbow. ALWAYS USE HI-TEMP SILICONE ON ALL CONNECTIONS FOR MAXIMUM NOISE REDUCTION.

Cet adaptateur est conçu pour être utilisé sur la majorité des VTT où la sortie du silencieux d'origine est de forme plate ou concave, sans embout
mâle. Cet adaptateur peut aussi être utilisé lorsque l'embout de sortie mâle est trop court pour y monter l'adaptateur par friction seulement.
1. Tenez l'adaptateur centré sur l'embout du silencieux et marquez les quatre trous de montage, puis poinçonnez la marque des trous.
2. Percez les quatre trous avec une mèche de 1/8 po.
3. À l'aide d'un poinçon de 3/16 po ou d'une pointe d'alène (voir illustration), agrandissez les trous pour qu'ils acceptent les vis à tôle de 1/4 po.
Cela poussera un peu de métal dans les trous pour un meilleur serrage des vis. Attention à ne pas agrandir les trous au-delà de 3/16 po pour ne
pas compromettre le serrage.
4. Si l'embout de votre silencieux présente une surface concave, il est préférable d'utiliser le joint fourni en le collant à l'adaptateur avec du silicone
orange haute température Gasketmaster, tel qu'illustré, et laisser sécher jusqu'à ce que le joint tienne en place. Après quoi, mettez une bonne
quantité de silicone haute température sur les deux surfaces et dans les trous de boulon et passez à l'étape six.
5. Si l'embout du silencieux d'origine possède une surface plate, le joint n'est pas nécessaire. Appliquez seulement du silicone haute température
sur les deux surfaces et les trous de montage et passez à l'étape suivante.
6. Tenez l'adaptateur en place et engagez les vis à tôle à l'aide d'une douille et d'une clé à cliquet, en poussant et tournant en même temps. Il se
peut que vous ayez à donner quelques petits coups de marteau pour aider à engager le filetage des vis. Serrez bien en veillant à ne pas foirer.
7. Le diamètre extérieur de l'adaptateur étant de 1 3/8 po, faites glisser sur lui le silencieux Stealth et fixez-le à l'aide de la bride de 1 3/8 po fournie.
8. IMPORTANT. Si vous décidez d'employer l'adaptateur coudé de 80o entre l'adaptateur à boulonner et le silencieux Stealth, vous devez d'abord
monter le manchon composé no 59 sur l'adaptateur à boulonner avant d'installer le coude. C'est alors que vous obtenez la dimension requise de
1 1/2 po. UTILISEZ TOUJOURS LE SILICONE HAUTE TEMPÉRATURE SUR TOUS LES JOINTS, AFIN D'OBTENIR UNE ATTÉNUATION SONORE MAXIMALE.
