Before you start
Basic instructions on how to use your AirStick are
provided in this guide.
For updated information on AirStick's functionalities,
technical documentation and AirStick S-ID software,
please visit: www.datamars.com/id-readers.
We recommend using S-ID software (contained in
the supplied USB memory stick), which will allow you
to manage your data, check for newer versions of the
firmware or modify default settings.
You might need to configure your AirStick, prior using it for
the first time.
Note: Please ensure that the battery is fully charged before
using the device for the first time. This will guarantee a
longer operating lifetime of the batteries.
Glossary
EID: Electronic IDentifier.
VID: Visual IDentifier. Alphanumeric code that can be associated with
an EID on the AirStick reader or by S-ID software. *
Alert: Alphanumeric code that can be associated with an EID to notify
a specific condition met by an animal (grouping, pregnancy, vaccination...). *
Magnifier: Highlights the information you consider the most important
(EID, VID or alert) with a bigger font size.
Reading session: Memory file that stores reading information every time
an EID is read. Default session name: RS dd-mm-yy.csv. *
Counter: Number of EIDs stored in the current session.
