Instructions for Use
Before Using
Read these instructions carfully. They contain important notes for the use, safety and maintenance of the
appliance. Keep them in a safe place and transfer them to a possible succeeding user. Only use the
appliance for the purpose mentioned in these instructions. When using pay particular attention to the
following safety advice.
Safety advice
 Connect the appliance to alternating current only – with a rated
voltage according to the rating plate – to a correctly installed earthed
socket. Cord and plug have to be completely dry.
 The appliance must not be operated by means of an external timer or
remote control switch.
 Do not leave the appliance unattended during use or while it is still
hot.
 Do not pull the connection cord over sharp edges or jam it, do not
allow it to hang down and protect it from heat and oil.
 Do not place the appliance onto hot surfaces, e. g. hot plate etc. or
near open flames, it may melt.
 Do not operate the toaster without inserted crumb tray as part of the
appliance.
 Do not pull the plug by the cord or touch it with wet hands.
 Do not immerse the appliance, the cord or power plug in water or
other liquids.
 During use do not move the appliance and do not pull the cord.
 Caution, danger of burning: the appliance will become very hot
during use, especially in the area of the toaster slots.
 When putting in the slices of bread, ensure that the slices of bread do
not get jammed. However, should this happen, pull out the plug first
and then remove the slices of bread.
 Caution: Do not insert oversized foods and metal foil packages into
the toaster, as this may cause fire or electrical shock.
 Caution: Bread slices inside the toaster may burn. Due to this never
operate the appliance under or near flammable materials (e. g.
curtains, wall cabinets) as this may cause fire and never operate the
appliance unattended.
 Do not reach into the bread slots with fingers or objects such as forks,
knives or similar.
 Only operate the appliance while it is vertical, freely placed and on a
stable, heat resistant surface.
 Do not cover the bread slots whilst in operation or when it is still hot.
Never lay bread slices or bread rolls directly on the appliance, as this
may cause overheating.
 The warming rack is only meant for warming up rolls or croissants. Do
not put any other ingredients on the warming rack, as this may lead to
a hazardous situation.
 This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above
and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or
lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and
understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the
appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by
children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
 Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8
years.
 If the following happens do not use the appliance and unplug it
immediately:
- The appliance or power-cord is damaged
- Any defect after the appliance has accidently dropped or
something similar is suspected.
In these cases have the appliance repaired.
 Unplug appliance in following cases:
- Any malfunction during operation
- Before cleaning and maintenance
- After use
 In case of misuse, wrong handling or incorrect repair no liability will be
taken for possible damages. Claims under guarantee are also
excluded in such cases.
 This appliance is only intended for toasting bread. Do not put any
other ingredients in the appliance, as this may lead to a hazardous
situation.
 The appliance is intended for househould use only and may only be
used indoors. It is not intended for commercial or industrial use.
 Packaging material such as plastic bags keep out of reach of children.
 In case the cord of this appliance is damaged, it has to be replaced by
an authorized service agent of the manufacturer or a person having
