Power Requirements
The appliance can consume a total of 1800 W. With this
connected load a separate supply line protected by a 16 A
household circuit breaker is recommended.
CAUTION: Overload!
• If you use extension leads, these should have a cable
cross-section of at least 1.5 mm².
• Do not use any multiple sockets, as this device is too
powerful.
connection
• Make sure that the appliance is switched off. The tempera-
ture control must be set to "min.".
• Make sure that the iron voltage (see name plate) and the
line voltage match.
• The mains plug should only be inserted into a correctly
installed 230 V~, 50 Hz socket with earthing contact.
Before initial use
1. Take the device out of its packaging.
2. Remove all packaging materials, such as foils, filling materi-
als, cable ties and cartons.
3. Check that all accessories are included in the box.
4. Operate the appliance for around 10 minutes on the highest
setting (see "Initial Operation").
NOTe:
• This process normally produces a little smoke and some
smells. Provide sufficient ventilation.
• Clean manufacturing residues and dust from the device
as described under "Cleaning".
Initial Operation
1. Place the device on a heat-resistant surface.
2. Please ensure that the temperature regulator is turned to
"min." (off) and insert it into the socket of the thermostat.
cAuTION:
If the thermostat is not inserted correctly, this may lead
to abnormal heating, of which the consequence may be
damage or accidents. You should therefore ensure that
the thermostat is inserted correctly.
3. Connect the device to a properly installed 230 V~, 50 Hz
power socket.
4. Set the temperature control according to what you intend
to do:
Range
A
B
C - D
E - G

NOTe:
• The device has reached the correct temperature
when the control lamp on the thermostat goes off.
• During operation, the pilot lamp switches on and off.
This is normal and indicates that the temperature is
being thermostatically controlled and maintained.
Fat collecting Pan
Excess fat collects in the drip tray.
• Slide the drip tray into the bracket under the griddle.
• When grilling you should check the contents regularly and
empty the pan when necessary.
using the unit
WARNING:
The appliance is hot during use!
• Preheat the appliance for around 7 minutes. When the pilot
lamp goes out, the grill is ready to use.
• The cooking time depends on the type of food, the quantity,
and how well cooked the food needs to be, and it must be
determined according to your own preferences.
• When turning the food that is being cooked, please use
wooden or Teflon utensils so as not to damage the non-
stick layer.
• When the cooking process is complete, switch the tempera-
ture control to "A" to keep the food warm.
After use
•
To switch the device off, first turn the temperature regulator
to "min." (off) and remove the plug from the socket.
•
Do not remove the thermostat from the device until the
device has cooled down, as the temperature sensor is still
very hot after use.
