To power the compact headend connect the cable supplied. The programming unit tests the installed
receivers and checks if they are working correctly. The display will show the message "Waiting..."
and the GREEN LED lights up showing the programming unit is communicating with the installed
receivers. All the modules are then scanned and this takes approximately 20 seconds. At the end of
the scan the display will show the message "Channels found" and lists all the receivers the compact
headend has found. Usually these are installed on channels 1 to 6.
Then the backlit display will show the message "Press a key to enter Setup". If you press any button
within 30 seconds you will enter the programming menu (see the chapter 'Programming the Compact
Headend'). Otherwise the backlit display will turn OFF and the products name and software version
will be shown. If the receivers are working properly the GREEN LED will be ON and fixed.
This means that the compact headend is working correctly. When the RED LED is blinking it means
one or more receivers are not locked correctly. Re-programming is then required. Read the following
information on programming channels.

• The compact headend is working correctly and all receivers are
locked
• The receiver being programmed is locked on a frequency
• The programming unit is communicating with one of receivers
• At least one of the receivers is not locked. To check enter the
programming of each receiver (see chapter 3.0). When entering in
a receiver that is not locked the RED LED is fixed. When entering
a locked receiver the RED LED is OFF.
• The programming unit is communicating with an uninstalled
receiver or with a receiver that is not working (usually the headend
has all 6 receivers installed).
• The unit has discovered an error. The compact headend has
identified a communication error in one or more modules. In order
to restore the correct headend operation disconnect and then
reconnect the mains power supply. If the problem persists contact
the technical support.
• The compact headend has checked all receivers and found a
problem with at least one. To check which one has the problem
enter the programming menu of each receiver (see chapter 3.0). If
the RED LED is OFF the receiver is working correctly. If the RED
LED is ON the receiver has an error.
• The compact headend is trying to enter the menu of a missing
module or a module which can not communicate. In this case
the message "Channel not available" will be shown on the backlit
display and after a few seconds the RED LED will be OFF, while
the GREEN LED will be ON.
