The product must be installed only by qualified persons, according to the local safety standards and regula-
tions. The power supply is classified as Class II, in accordance with EN 60065 and, for this reason, it shall
not be connected to the protective earth (PE) of the supply mains.
The product must be used in accordance with the operating instructions of this manual.
Installation warnings
•
Use only the original power supply, installing the product so that the mains plug is easily accessible.
•
Never remove the product cover, parts at hazardous voltage could be accessible when the product case is
opened. Only instructed and authorized persons can open the product. In case of failure, do not try to repair
the product; otherwise the guarantee will no longer be valid.
•
The product must not be exposed to dripping or splashing and thus it shall be installed indoors, in a
dry place.
•
Humidity and condensation could damage the product. In case of condensation, wait until the product
is dry before using it.
•
Don't install the product above or close to heat sources, in dusty places or where it might come into
contact with corrosive substances.
•
Leave enough space around the product housing to ensure sufficient ventilation; an excessive tempera-
ture and/or an excessive heating may affect the performance and the life of the product.
•
In the event that the unit is fixed to the wall, use the proper screw anchors suitable to the characteristics
of the fixing support.
•
In accordance with the European Directive 2004/108/EC (EMC), the product shall be installed using de-
vices, cables and connectors that allow to comply with this directive requirements for fixed installations.
Earthing of the antenna system
The product must be connected to the earth electrode of the antenna system, in accordance with standard
EN60728-11. It is recommended to follow the provisions of the standard EN60728-11 and do not connect this
terminal to the protective earth (PE) of the supply mains.
IMPORTANT:
Only trained and authorized personnel can perform maintenance operations on the product.
Do not attempt to open the product or the power supply as it may expose you to dangerous electric shock.
2.1 PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS
FIL is a high selectivity cluster headend unit that allows the filtering and amplification of several TV channels.
The UHF band clusters can be programmed per group of channel, from a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 6
channels. The maximum number of clusters is 10 for model FIL 10 (6 clusters for FIL 06).
The headend unit can be programmed through a the built-in keypad and a LCD screen or through PC soft-
ware (FRPRO, downloadable at www.fracarro.com).
The headend configuration can be copied quickly and easily onto another unit of the same model or series
(i.e. from FRPRO10x to FIL10, or from FRPRO 06 to FIL 06) by using a USB pen drive.
The product is equipped with the cluster self-alignment function that allows the automatic regulation of all
gain so that the signals are equalized at the output and have the best noise figure.
Heat dissipation is due to natural convection thus no fans are required.
