11. Environmental Protection

Observe national regulations on environmentally
compatible disposal and on the recycling of disused
machines, packaging and accessories.
Only for EU countries: Never dispose of elec-
trical devices in your household waste! In
accordance with European Guideline 2002/
96/EC on used electronic and electric equipment
and its implementation in national legal systems,
used power tools must be collected separately and
handed in for environmentally compatible recycling.
Battery packs may not be disposed of with regular
waste. Return faulty or used battery packs to your
Metabo dealer!
Do not allow battery packs to come into contact with
water!
Before disposal, discharge the battery pack in the
electrical device. Prevent the contacts from short-
circuiting (e. g. by protecting them with adhesive
tape).
Do not dispose of electrical appliances as unsorted
municipal waste, use separate collection facilities.
Contact your local government for information
regarding the collection systems available. If elec-
trical appliances are disposed of in landfills or
dumps, hazardous substances can leak into the
groundwater and get into the food chain, damaging
your health and well-being. When replacing old
appliances with new ones, the retailer is legally obli-
gated to take back your old appliance for disposals
at least free of charge.
