7 – Installation and setting
Disk guard
The scope of the delivery for this power
tool contains a protective hood for
cutting discs (3) and one for roughing
discs (14).
The position of the disc covers (3/14)
can be adapted to suit the relevant
working conditions. To do this, loosen
the screw (12) with a screwdriver and
turn the cover to the new position.
Tighten the screw back up again (fig. 3).
CAUTION! The closed part of the
disk guard should always point
towards the user to protect him from
sparks and chippings.
Mounting and removing the disc
cover
If necessary, and if the situation requires it,
the disc cover can be exchanged. To do
this, loosen the screw (12) in such a way
that the cover can be removed by turning
it out of the guide groove of the sanding
head.
Mount in reverse order.
Additional grip
Depending on the working method, the
additional handle (2) can be mounted in
three different positions on the grinding
head (fig. 4).
Mounting tools
CAUTION! Before working on the
machine, always pull out the
power plug!
Cutting and roughing disks
All types of grinding and cutting disks
(elbowed A/B, flat, and 'diamond' C)
can be mounted on the spindle (6) (fig.
2). Depending on type and thickness of
the disk, always select a suitable
arrangement of clamping disk (7) and
nut (8).
Press the spindle-locking button
(4) in deep and hold it in this
position. If necessary, turn the
spindle slightly with the free hand until it
locks into position. Tighten the clamping
nut with the flange key provided (fig. 5).
Do not work with disks thicker than 6
mm.
CAUTION! Allow disks to cool
down before changing them.
HOT! Always work with the disk guard
in position!
CAUTION! With accessories,
always comply with the
manufacturer's directions. The
maximum rotation speed must be
greater than the idling speed of the
machine.
8 – Operation
Switching on and off (fig. 7)
The machine has a two button security
switch mechanism (1): The machine can
only be put into operation if the handle
is held firmly and both buttons are
pressed. When the handle is released,
the machine switches off automatically
to ensure that accidental operation is
not possible.
