Cautions:

Never sterilize the Adapter Cable by any means.
•
You can immerse the patient end of the Adapter Cable, but no longer than specified by the cleaning
agent or disinfectant manufacturer. Do not immerse the Fetal Monitor connector.
•
Select recommended cleaning agents and disinfectants carefully, because some products with similar
names have different compositions.
•
Always dilute cleaning agents and disinfectants according to manufacturers' instructions.
•
Do not use strong oxidants or bleaches containing sodium hypochlorite (e.g. Clorox™).
•
Do not use Povodine
•
Do not use disinfectants containing iodine complexes.
Exterior Cleaning and Disinfection
Perform the following procedure after every use:

assure it is closed.

Spray cleaning agent directly onto the Adapter Cable, or
onto a soft, clean cloth. You can also immerse the patient
end of the Adapter Cable.

Wipe all Adapter Cable surfaces clean from one end to
the other.

Change to a dry cloth and dry the Adapter Cable com-
pletely.

Repeat steps 1-4 using a recommended disinfectant.

Using a clean, dry cloth, wipe all residual disinfectant
from the Adapter Cable.
WARNING: Any residual disinfectant left on the cable
could cause severe skin irritation or blistering if it
comes in contact with a patient.

If you immersed the patient end of the Adapter Cable,
rinse the internal cavity following
procedure, Cleaning the Internal Cavity.

Check for signs of any deterioration or damage. If dam-
age is noticed, discard the Adapter Cable immediately.
