1. Introduction

It is important that you read and understand

your HITACHI relative owner's manual as well
as this manual. Please carefully review and
observe all safety precautions and warnings.
Careless or improper use of the unit may cause
serious or fatal injuries.
This extension pipe has been designed
for HITACHI pole saw and pole trimmer
attachments. (except CG-EX is ONLY designed
for CG-PS attachment)

SAFE OPERATION

WARNING
All overhead electrical conductors and
communications wires can have electricity
flow with high voltages. Never touch wires
directly or indirectly when pruning, otherwise
serious injury or death may result.
WARNING!
The EXTENSION PIPE can be ONLY installed
one set on the unit, otherwise serious injury may
result.

2. Assembly procedures

Installation of EXTENSION PIPE (Fig. 2-1)
WARNING!
When install EXTENSION PIPE on the unit,
always shut off and cool down the engine.
1. Remove cutting attachment from your unit.
2. Join the extension pipe in place of it.
NOTE!
If your brush cutter tube is 26mm diameter,
remove bracket collar B (4) by pulling the lock
pin (1).
3. Make sure the lock pin (1) fits in the location
hole (2) of tube and that the tube will not come
off.
NOTE!
Location of the location hole (2) differs
depending on the applications. (HITACHI
Pole Saws (Current version)) If so, turn over
the extension pipe to set. (see Fig. 2-A)
4. Tighten the knob nut (3) securely.
DANGER
WARNING
The cutting-attachment chains and cutting
blades are sharp! Always wear gloves when
handling attachment, otherwise serious
personal injury may result.
Cutting attachment to drive shaft (Fig. 2-2, 3)
Loosen tube locking bolt (1).
Insert the drive shaft into the gear case of the
attachment properly until the marked position (2)
on the drive shaft tube meets the gear case.
NOTE!
When it is hard to insert drive shaft up to the
marked position on the drive shaft tube, turn
attachment clockwise or counterclockwise.
Tighten tube locking bolt lining up the hole in
the shaft tube.
Then tighten clamp bolt securely (3).
