FireWare Neptune Training Extinguishers
Filling :
You can fill the FireWare Neptune Training Extinguisher with just air or with air, water and/or practice
foam. The FireWare Practice Foam is dermatologically tested and biodegradable. So it can be used
with fire fighting training without any problems. As the foam is designed especially for training cours-
es, the extinguishing action is less than that of real extinguishing foam. The student must therefore
master the extinguishing technique better before he/she will be able to see any results.
You can refill the fire extinguishers simply, fast and in a controlled way with the FireWare filling sta-
tion, the Neptune (art. nr.025-012-007). If you don't have a filling station, you can also fill the fire ex-
tinguishers manually using the procedure below. In both cases, you will need a compressor (FireWare
Compressor, art nr. 025-012-007). Read the FireWare Neptune manual before filling the filling station.
Take note: To pressurize the training extinguisher manually, your compressor must be fitted with a
car tyre valve connection (5).
Take note: ALWAYS read the directions of use of your compressor first.
Step 1:
The Training extinguisher is supplied empty. Have you used the Training extinguisher
already? Empty it completely before you refill it. Then replace the locking pin/circlip.
Step 2:
Check if the locking pin/circlip (3) is (re)placed.
If you only want to fill the fire extinguisher with air, you can proceed to step 7.
Step 3:
Unscrew the valve (4) of the cylinder (1) clockwise. Use the FireWare Spanner if necessary
(061-100-003).
Step 4:
A riser is mounted to the valve, remove the valve as a unit from the Training extinguisher.
Step 5:
Fill the fire extinguisher with a layer of practice foam, and then add water. The mixing ratio
is 2-3%.
Step 6:
Replace the valve on the cylinder and tighten counter clockwise. Use the FireWare Spanner
(061-100-003) if necessary.
Step 7:
Connect your compressor to the filling valve (5).
Step 8:
The filling station can be connected to the hose connector (7). If your compressor has the
correct connector, you can also use this connection.
Step 9:
Adjust the maximum filling pressure to 15 bars.
Step 10: Switch on the compressor. Always read your compressor manual!
Step 11: You can read on the pressure gauge (6) when your extinguisher is pressurized. If the
maximum pressure is reached, switch off the compressor.
Step 12: Disconnect the compressor from the filling valve or the hose connector.
Take note: It may still be under pressure!
Step 13: (Re)connect the hose (8) to the hose connector (7). To disconnect the hose first push the
green button and pull the connector back, then disconnect the hose again.
Step 14: Place the locking pin / locking clip back.
