GEARWRENCH Carabiner Lanyards are only intended for use as part of a tethering system and use with tools meeting the
following specifications:
- Total tool weight under 10 lbs. (4.53kg) (For GEARWRENCH parts 88761, 88763, 88764)
- Total tool weight under 15 lbs. (6.80kg) (For GEARWRENCH part 88762)
- Inspect and ensure any tool to be used with lanyards are tether ready, tether connection point prior is secure, prior to
attaching to lanyard and tool to any tethering system
- Only disconnect and exchange tools/items connected to the lanyard over a secure area (over a platform, inside a
controlled container)
- Only use lanyards when distanced at least 6.5ft (2m) plus the length of the tool is anchored from the nearest person or
sensitive object.
Installation Instruction on carabiner lanyards to attach to tethering system:
1. Hold the carabiner lanyard, with the lanyard end at the bottom
2. Using the knurling on the on the carabiner's screw gate, turn the screw gate clock wise
3. Screw gate will unlock, push the gate forward and attached carbineer to tethering system connection point
4. Once carabiner attached to tethering system check connection point and security of the carabiner lock. If connection is
not secure or carbineer does not lock, replace the carabiner lanyard immediately.
Installation Instructions: Corded loop attachment to tools: Installation for closed handled tools:
1. Weigh the tool to be used with the Lanyard. The tool weight must be below the lanyards maximum working load capacity
of 10 lbs. 4.53 kg. (For GEARWRENCH parts 88761, 88763, 88764). With GEARWRENCH part 88762 maximum working load
capacity of 15 lbs. 6.80 kg.
2. Ensure the cinching of the lanyard to the tool will not interfere with the safe working condition of the tool
3. With the corded end of the lanyard pass the cord through the handle of the tool
4. Pass the carabiner of the lanyard through the loop of the cord
5. To create a secure connection pull tightly to clinch and the connection point will be created
Installation for tools with existing pre-manufactured tether through holes:
1. Weigh the tool to be used with the Lanyard. The tool weight must be below the lanyards maximum working load capacity
of 10 lbs. 4.53 kg. (For GEARWRENCH parts 88761, 88763, and 88764). With GEAREWRENCH part 88762 maximum working
load capacity of 15 lbs. 6.80 kg.
2. Ensure the cinching of the lanyard to the tool will not interfere with the safe working condition of the tool
3. With the corded end of the lanyard pass the cord through the tether through hole of the tool
4. Pass the carabiner side of the lanyard through the loop of the cord to clinch.
WARNINGS:
- NEVER use GEARWRENCH Carabiner Lanyards to connect anything over 10 lbs. 4.53kg for GEARWRENCH parts 88761,
88763, 88764.
- NEVER use GEARWRENCH Carabiner Lanyards to connect anything over 15 lbs. 6.80kg for GEARWRENCH part 88762.
- GEARWRENCH Carabiner Lanyards are Not Personal Protective Equipment
- Always use GEARWRENCH Carabiner Lanyards with the recommended length of tethering accessories
