Satellite acquisition
Your kapten NG is fitted with a GPS receiver. To minimise the time
needed to receive GPS signals, go outside into the open, well away from
any obstacle blocking visibility of the sky (buildings, trees, etc.). Satellite
acquisition can take several minutes. The time taken varies depending on
the prevailing conditions (environment, atmospheric conditions, etc.).

In-car use: position your
athermic windscreens may adversely affect reception of GPS signals.

Pedestrian mode: carry your
reception – in a pocket by itself, around the neck, etc.
Introductory remarks
- Your kapten NG has a touch screen. To select a function, touch the
screen itself, on the icon or the function button.
- The kapten NG user interface displays in portrait mode (vertically).
However, once navigation starts, it is possible to switch the navigation
screen display to landscape (horizontal) via Options > Screen orientation
> Portrait/Landscape.
